About This Commemoration
2026 marks America250 — the nationwide 250th anniversary commemoration of the Declaration of Independence, observed July 4, 1776 to July 4, 2026. As part of that commemoration, historical and genealogical organizations across the country are honoring the Revolutionary War patriots buried in their communities.
Ansel Ferrell (1762–1846) is buried at the Strickland-Ferrell Cemetery, recorded as a patriot soldier who served in the Revolutionary War. This event will honor his service and his family's long connection to this ground.
